FloodGate is a research-based screening tool. It estimates flood hazard, expected physical damage and the associated uplift in probability of default for infrastructure assets, using published academic methodology and open data. It is provided for information and research purposes.
FloodGate does not provide investment advice, credit ratings, insurance pricing, or engineering assessments. Its outputs are statistical estimates at ~1 km resolution based on global models; they are not a substitute for asset-specific due diligence, site surveys, or professional advice. Decisions made using the tool are the sole responsibility of the user.
The tool is built exclusively on open data, used in accordance with their licences: WRI Aqueduct Floods hazard maps (CC BY 4.0), WRI Global Power Plant Database (CC BY 4.0), OurAirports open data (public domain), NGA World Port Index (public domain), JRC global depth-damage functions (Huizinga et al., 2017). Please retain attribution when re-using outputs.

You may use the tool and its outputs for research, risk screening, and internal analysis, with attribution. You may not misrepresent outputs as asset-specific engineering assessments or credit ratings, resell the data as-is, or use the tool in a way that violates the underlying data licences.
The tool and data are provided "as is", without warranty of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, the authors accept no liability for losses arising from use of the tool or reliance on its outputs.
